Dr. Cox is a licensed psychologist currently in private practice and based in Dallas, Texas. Prior to opening her own practice, she spent 15 years counseling undergraduate and graduate students at various universities across the country. She has expertise in eating disorder treatment, anxiety, crisis support, and extensive experience teaching on topics including suicide prevention and promoting mental wellbeing. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Gender Studies at Mount Holyoke College, and her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) at The George Washington University.
Sumeet Kadian is a medical student at the University of Connecticut. He also completed his BS and BA undergraduate degrees (Molecular and Cell Biology major and Healthcare and Society individualized major, as well as a Healthcare Management and Insurance Studies minor) at the University of Connecticut. Originally from southeastern Connecticut, Sumeet joined Medical Minds Matter because he himself experienced the stress of being a pre-medical student and observed how hard some of his peers—and even himself at points—were pushing themselves to take heavy course loads, extracurriculars, and engage in other activities to build their applications for medical school, often at the expense of their own mental health. Since joining the organization in December 2020, he has served as the Chapters Taskforce Director—helping start and engage chapters at undergraduate and medical institutions across the country—Executive Director, and now serves on the Board of Directors in addition to helping lead the Medical Minds Matter Chapter at UConn Health.
Dr. Silverman is a licensed psychologist who specializes in athletes and high-achieving individuals. She is currently based out of Greater Hartford in Connecticut. In addition to offering clinical services to adults, student populations, and athletes, Dr. Silverman enjoys providing educational programming on eating psychopathology and overall health and well-being. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at West Virginia University, her master's of arts in Clinical and Counseling Psychology in Education at Teacher's College, Columbia University, and her doctorate in Psychology at the University of Hartford.
John Kalb brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience in operations, quality, compliance, performance improvement and change management. As a GE trained Master Black Belt & Master Change Agent, he has expert experience in operational excellence implementations, training, coaching and mentoring.
His experience also includes tenure at as VP of Quality for a Regional Medical Center, where he prepared the organization for the industry transformation to Value Based Payment. In addition, he also started up several new programs, including Operational Excellence, Hospitalist Services and Trauma Services.
While with GE Healthcare, John provided leadership and business process management services to multiple healthcare companies, including health systems and multi-specialty physician groups.
John is an accomplished public speaker on the subjects of operational excellence, patient safety and compliance topics. He has conducted seminars, workshops, and presentations at the national and state levels for numerous associations, including the Health Care Compliance Associate, Idaho Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Conference, WCBF Six Sigma in Healthcare, and National Capital Healthcare Executive, ACHE, chapter.
He attended Brooklyn College where he was awarded an MA in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology and a BA in Psychology, and Brooklyn Law School where he was awarded a JD.
Dennis Murphy has been involved and providing direction in the application of technology to solve complex issues within the healthcare, education, and financial services organizations. He brings twenty plus years of experience in the application of technology solutions to address operational concerns, quality enhancements and improved user experiences.
Dennis has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business at both Montclair State University and St. Peter’s University.
His experience also includes tenure at as COO/SVP at Rational Surgical Solutions, whereas senior operational and sales leader he guided the organization through the early stages as a Health start up.
In addition, Dennis provided leadership and business process management services within collaborative tech organizations including Nexistant, Telaid and AVI/SPL.
While at Goldman Sachs he developed, implemented, and managed global enterprise collaborative networks and solutions.
Dennis has served as a Chairman of Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment Chair, on Senior Housing Board and as Chair of a School Board.
He attended St. Peter’s University where he was awarded a BS degree and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
William Goss joined the Board of Directors in 2022 following his previous roles on the executive board as Executive Director and Chapters Director. Will is an aspiring physician finishing his final year of medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, where he currently serves as Vice President of Wellness for his cohort. After graduation, he will begin his medical career as an Internal Medicine resident and continue his service in the U.S. Army reserves as a physician.
