"I'm in intern year of residency. A friend of mine who graduated in my class with me just passed away from suicide last week. I also heard about another resident suicide at another hospital last fall before the holidays. People know that intern year is horrible and the winter of intern year is the worst, and yet almost nothing is done to help residents cope (especially during this pandemic). A lot of us are shocked and morale is low. We're all doing our best to support each other and check in on each other but we are all stunned."

We appreciate the opportunity to share stories like these with our community, with the goal of destigmatizing the struggles faced within the medical field.
