"I'm a new attending. I've been learning that attending life is lonely. I recently graduated from a small class in residency and we were really tight-knit, hanging out outside of work and making close relationships. I came in with other new attendings and they all have families to go home to, so they don't have this problem. There's not a lot of camaraderie, and there is definitely a sense of separation between us and others who are above and below us in the totem pole. It's been hard to make friends and socialize outside of work, since there really isn't anything out there to do in this pandemic. When I go home, I go straight to the computer and stream netflix until I fall asleep. Definitely feeling a bit depressed because of the isolation."
